Guests are loving this delicious smoothie, as it gives them a great kick in the morning.

So it’s mellow yellow month this month based on our guests’ taste buds.

From the Bliss Kitchen: The Mellow Yellow Smoothie

Gorgeous orange and pineapple smoothie next to the pool - be spoiled for choice at Bliss Yoga Retreat where food is unlimited

Ingredients:

½ pineapple
1cm turmeric root
1cm ginger root
1 ½ lime, teaspoon honey
1 small glass coconut water
OPTIONAL: add half a carrot

Method:

In a blender, mix the lemon & lime juice with coconut water and honey.
Blend until combined and serve.

DID YOU KNOW? . . .

The Mellow Yellow Smoothie is a delicious combination of pineapple, lime, turmeric and ginger.

Pineapple contains bromelain, which contains enzymes that aid the digestive process.

Turmeric, with its active ingredient curcumin, possessses strong anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to be more effective than ibuprofen (pain killer) at reducing inflammation.

Ginger has a long tradition of being effective for alleviating gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. It also displays strong anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties.

Fun fact – Pineapple can be used as a meat tenderiser! The enzymes found in this fruit start (the same with kiwifruit) breaking down the proteins in meat.

Bliss Food
Oooooohhhhhh the food! So many of our guests love our amazing food. We started off as a fusion of Indonesian and some Western faves and we’ve just kept adding. From amazing smoothies, to healthy bliss bowls, we’ve had training sessions on how to poach amazing eggs and have added an all day breakfast menu. I am personally a massive Foodie so it was always important even from the start that we have an amazing food experience at Bliss and to make sure we cater for everyone. From vegan to foodies who love all food, to catering to allergies, halal… everything. Our kitchen staff put their hearts and soul into the food and it’s all cooked with love. We are also excited to share some of our guest’s favourite Bliss recipes so that you can make them yourself at home.
