Happy International Women’s Day! At Bliss we love to champion and celebrate amazing women from all over the world, not just today, but every single day.
It was so important to me when launching Bliss, to create a warm, safe and nurturing environment where women could come to escape everyday life, learn about themselves, and become the best versions of themselves. At Bliss, women meet other like-minded women and I am so blessed to see our amazing guests making lifelong friendships, connections, and learning about each other’s lives.
With the theme this year being #eachforequal, I think it’s important to remember that although we are seeking equality, women are all unique, and our power is in fact in our differences, not in us becoming the same. It’s a beautiful thing to learn about other women’s’ unique journeys and outlooks on life and this is something we certainly celebrate at Bliss.
There are so many inspirational women in the world and I believe that working from the heart is the feminine way and it’s what makes us so strong and able to create more opportunities for ourselves.
International Women’s Day is important reminder that not only do we need to be building up and supporting other women, but also ourselves. After all, the more we look after ourselves, the more we can look after others. Focus on you this IWD, take some time out, book yourself a massage, read a book, take a bath and find your happy place!
Here are some ways in which you can look after yourself:
Learning to meditate and becoming mindful can have an incredible effect on your life. Spending as little as 10 minutes per day meditating will improve your concentration and reduce stress. Meditation can also increase your levels of happiness and improve your acceptance of others.
Have a spa day
Spa days are a great for you to experience solo or with a girlfriend. Try and visit a day spa to make you feel invigorated and refreshed. You’ll feel better (and look better!) after taking a day out to indulge in massages, soothing your mind, body and soul. You can even make your own wellness bath at home with some essential oils and flower petals!
Exercise gets your body moving and your heart rate up, even if it’s just going for a swim or taking part in some yoga. By exercising regularly, you will be investing in a habit that creates a healthy mind and a healthy body. Exercise can improve your sleep and your sex life too – or combine the two with some sexercise!
Fuel your body with nutrients
Eating the right foods each day will leave your body feeling better and give you more energy to take on the day. Although we should listen to our bodies and cravings every now and again, it’s important that you invest in your health and fuel your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to be the best version of yourself. We love a fresh fruit smoothie at Bliss!
We wanted to share our Bliss experience as far as it can go and so we created Bliss News. Even if you can’t go on a beautiful personalised Women’s Retreat right now, we hope you can take the time to add a bit more bliss to your life in whatever way you choose. Self love comes in all different shapes and sizes but the one thing it has in common is that it starts with you.
