February is the month of love with Self Love day on the 13th and Valentine’s Day on the 14th. At Bliss we love celebrating the people we care about and spreading the love to all the amazing women who visit us at our three sanctuaries.
It warms our hearts to be able to welcome women from all over the world and spread the Bliss love far and wide. Love is a theme all year round for us, not just in February!
Putting ourselves first and investing in self-love is also an important part of our ethos here at Bliss. That’s because true love comes from within. We encourage all of you to take time out, reconnect and refill your cup so that you feel the best version of yourself, are confident in your own skin and are ready to tackle life head on. Having love for ourselves means we are more able to accept the love of others.
As busy women, time seems to move fast and our to-do lists seem to grow ever longer, with self-care and love often being pushed to the bottom of our priorities. So, we’ve got some blissful tips to make sure you are at the top of your priority list and to encourage you to take time out and fill your life with love:
Positive affirmations help us to handle our negative feelings about ourselves. They help to increase self-reliance, take action within our lives, build self-confidence and self-esteem. Positive affirmations help us feel better about our lives and our place in the universe. Find an affirmation that speaks to you and abide by it.
Surround yourself with people you love
The energy of others has a considerable effect on our overall wellbeing. Some people make us feel loved, respected and listened to; they give us space to be totally ourselves. Others have the opposite effect, making us feel anxious, self-conscious, and uncomfortable. Start to notice how you feel around different people. Learn to say ‘no’ to friends that don’t make you feel your best – it will liberate you.
Take time for yourself
Make time each day just for you. Whether it’s running a bath, reading a book, or listening to music or a podcast, take yourself away from everyone, put your phone down and simply stop for a period time of each day. Doing something just for you without giving into the demands of life and other people can be truly valuable way to refill your cup.
Nourish your body
Taking care of ourselves and showing ourselves self-love can start with taking care of our bodies. This can be done in many ways, but some that we love at Bliss are taking part in a yoga session, going for a walk, having a fresh fruit smoothie or taking a swim in our gorgeous sparkling pools. Getting your body moving and full of yummy food is the perfect way to show yourself love.
Cleanse your soul with meditation
The quickest route to self-awareness and learning to truly love ourselves, is meditation. Meditation takes us straight to our true selves. It teaches us about forgiveness, compassion and acceptance. Meditation reconnects us. Experiencing inner peace and inner calm is the best medicine for our bodies. Find a quiet spot, make yourself comfortable and focus on your breathing. Meditation will teach you to respect yourself, forgive yourself, and finally love yourself.
