As some of you know earlier this year I was faced with the hardest decision ever, whether or not to close down our Canggu Sanctuary in Bali due to construction popping up everywhere around us.
This was DEVASTATING for me as I didn’t want to let anyone down, but couldn’t see how this was possible when guests had booked a wellness holiday with us and yet it was noisy and a little bit hectic outside of our walls.
In the end after deciding to close, I then took the time to re-evaluate everything and decided to STAY OPEN! Here are some of the reasons why…

Our Canggu sanctuary is soooo beautiful, with an amazing energy and so many guests wrote to me how disappointed they were it could be closing. Especially those who wanted to come back again and again.

I personally designed and renovated areas of the Villa to be everything Bliss is all about and making it a true Sanctuary including bathtubs in every room for wellness baths, a treetops yoga shala and treetops massage area. We will not find this anywhere else … believe me we have been looking!

The location is actually epic and Canggu is one of the most sought after places to stay in Bali. (Pretty much the reason everyone wants to be there and there is so much building around). But also why there are amazing shops, cafes, beach clubs, beaches and a really cool vibe which is what a lot of people come to Bali for.

I couldn’t bear losing any of our staff. Many of the Canggu staff have been with me since the absolute beginning and they are like family. If nothing else we are staying open for them.

Many of our recent guests were extremely happy with such a hefty discount to still experience Bliss Canggu and chose to stay despite the construction. This was an eye opener for me and I learnt it is best to let others make their own choice with open honest information at hand.

We have won so many awards and have so many amazing tripadvisor Reviews. I know I know this shouldn’t matter, but it does! We have worked so hard to create an amazing beautiful space and to be acknowledged for this on a Global scale is not an easy feat. We recently just won 3 more awards for Canggu and were voted best Luxury Womens Retreat for 2019 and I definitely took all of this into consideration in deciding not to walk away.

I personally love this place. I started in Canggu. Everybody loves Canggu. It has an amazing energy in Bali and part of this is growth. I want to stay in Canggu and considering everywhere else we looked also had building around them I am really feeling so happy now to stay in our purposely renovated beautiful Sanctuary.

I came to terms with the fact for the next year or even more depending on how much construction pops up around us and when, that in the short term Canggu won’t make a profit due to the hefty discounts. But on the other hand I am excited to have a more entry level price for people to come and experience this version of Bliss and still have an amazing time. Whilst prices are rising more and more all over Bali we are now offering 40% OFF!!! Still this location is not for everybody during this high growth period, but it is still a great opportunity and experience for those who choose it.
Nine
All of our Bliss Sanctuaries are full of heart and soul and healing and I wanted to keep this at Canggu. It is different for everbody and I love that. It is too special to walk away from.

Although it’s been a challenge, adapting and still creating an amazing environment for our guests is what we do. So simple things like moving in-house yoga a little earlier in the morning (you still have unlimited yoga at the nearby Desa Seni), dealing day to day with the builders close by so we know what is going on as best we can and making recommendations to guests on treatment times etc, offering our amazing offsite activities and sightseeing etc has all really helped our guests still really enjoy their stay.

I want to thankyou all for your patience and understanding. We still have two other amazing Sanctuaries if Canggu is not for you at this time. If you do decide you’d like to give it a go we are offering…

You are not locked into anything when you arrive. If you decide it’s not for you we will give you a full refund of the rest of your stay and help you find somewhere else you would like to go and drop you off there at the time of your choosing.
